As a Controls Testing Manager, you will be responsible for delivering regular testing of key controls and targeted control reviews for a designated franchise or function. You will ensure identified issues are appropriately escalated, action plans are agreed, and operational risks are mitigated effectively. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver timely and accurate testing of key controls and completion of targeted control reviews
- Ensure risk issues are identified, escalated, and supported by robust action plans
- Drive improvements and enhancements to controls testing methodologies and approaches
- Support the leadership, coaching, and development of team members, ensuring process compliance
- Perform first line of defence testing and reviews in line with agreed procedures and standards
- Identify weaknesses and gaps in credit, operational, and regulatory processes, policies, and controls
- Maintain comprehensive audit trails and testing documentation in line with records management policies
- Ensure testing activities minimise disruption to business teams while maintaining quality and rigour
Required Experience and Knowledge
- Experience working within a banking or wealth management environment
- Good understanding of financial products and operational risk mitigation practices
- Minimum three years of experience in audit, controls testing, or first line risk roles
- Strong knowledge of controls testing methodologies and risk management frameworks
- Professional certifications such as CIA, CISA, or equivalent preferred
- Proven experience working in continuous improvement environments and meeting demanding deadlines
