Responsibilities
Serve as the senior controls expert on a team designing Fluence s energy storage products for power system support, targeted at utility and grid operator customers.
Provide supervision, oversight, and direction to DCS Controls Team.
Coach, mentor, and develop People.
Empower People to take responsibility for their jobs and goals.
Foster a spirit of teamwork that allows for impersonal disagreement over ideas, conflict, and expeditious resolution.
Development DCS Controls, integrating grid-scale battery and power conversion systems from industry-leading manufacturers.
Focus on robustness, security, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Design, develop, build, and document DCS controls logic using MathWorks Simulink, Stateflow and C/C++.
Meet project timelines and budget
Track, manage, document, and report work using JIRA and Confluence.
Qualifications Required:-
Expertise in MathWorks Simulink for model-based systems engineering and Linux
Expertise in closed-loop control algorithms.
Expertise in multiple Linux Deployment Environments (Ubuntu preferred).
Strong knowledge of Git.
Familiarity with power generation and/or grid level control systems.
Enthusiasm for getting things done, taking personal responsibility, adding value within a team setting, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Expertise using the Agile development framework.
Preferred
MS in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Controls Systems, or Mathematics from an accredited university with 3+ years of work experience. Significant related work experience will be considered in place of a master s degree.
Experience with Power System Market Applications.
Experience with Industrial Protocols: Modbus TCP, DNP3, IEC 61850.
Willing and able to travel, domestically and internationally, up to 5% of the time.
