The opportunity:
The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around3500+ skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, projectManagement, functional system testing, installation supervision, documentation, commissioning and Technical Support.Ensure efficiency and effectiveness of operations to facilitate business activities. Develop and sustain effective control of the environment to strengthen corporate governance. Diversity + Collaboration = Great Innovation. This role is primarily technical, focusing on product specification, design, engineering and deployment, supporting both Distribution Automation product and solutions business. The position requires deep technical expertise in automation products, with a supporting role in sales and market positioning.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Bring strong knowledge in specific areas of distribution automation (Measurement, Control, Protection, Communication, Fleet management)

  • Has a deep understanding of the Hitachi Energy product portfolio and can apply this knowledge in solving business and customer problems and integrate in different applications.

  • Building relations and providing great customer service on a high technical level

  • Lead the requirement specification for products in the Distribution Automation portfolio

  • Conduct technical feasibility studies, proof of concepts, and homologation for new products and solutions.

  • Develop templates for different application topologies and builds tested, validated, and approved kits and packages to be easily used and replicated

  • Cooperates with other BUs/divisions to develop and validate replicable applications

  • Analyze customer pain points and business problems to deliver specific technical solutions.

  • Prepare and deliver detailed technical presentations, as well as product and solution documentation.

  • Maintain strong relationships with internal technical teams to ensure seamless project execution.

  • Stay updated on the latest automation technologies and trends, sharing insights with the team.

  • Support sales teams by providing technical expertise during customer engagements and proposal development, by selecting the appropriate product/ solution, validating the proposal and leading customer technical discussions.

  • Participate in trade shows, conferences, and marketing campaigns to promote technical capabilities and product innovations.

  • Assist in market research and competitive analysis to inform product positioning and business development.

  • You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with 5-10 yrs. of experience, preferably in Electrical & Electronics

  • Good knowledge about Power system, protection and control Systems

  • Proficient in Numerical IEDs, Electromechanical & auxiliary relays (preferably Relion 670 and Relion 650 Series Products)

  • Hands-on experience in software configuration tools like PCM600, HMI500

  • Proven experience in technical roles (engineering, technical support, solution design) with exposure to sales engineering.

  • Strong understanding of automation technologies, distribution networks, and industry standards.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to analyze market trends and contribute to strategic planning.

  • High focus on customer needs and satisfaction.

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of time.
