JOB SUMMARY
The Contracts & Billing Engineer will be responsible for managing end-to-end contract lifecycle and billing processes for construction projects. The role includes contractor onboarding, preparation and verification of bills, rate analysis, and ensuring commercial compliance with contract terms. The position plays a critical role in cost control, revenue tracking, and financial accuracy of projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Handle contractor onboarding, including verification of documents, finalization of terms, and agreement execution.
Draft, review, and manage contracts, work orders, and subcontract agreements.
Prepare and verify RA bills (Running Account Bills) and final bills as per work progress.
Ensure billing is aligned with BOQ, work orders, and agreed contract terms.
Conduct rate analysis and cost comparisons for various construction activities.
Track project costs, variations, and change orders; ensure proper documentation and approvals. Coordinate with site engineers and project teams for measurement verification (MB - Measurement Book). Ensure timely certification and processing of contractor bills.
Monitor and control budget vs actual expenditure.
Handle claims, variations, and dispute resolution related to contracts and billing.
Maintain proper documentation and records for audits and compliance.
Liaise with finance and procurement teams for smooth payment processing.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
BE Civil (mandatory).
5–6 years of relevant experience in contracts and billing in construction/real estate industry. Strong understanding of billing processes, RA bills, and contract management.
Knowledge of quantity surveying and cost control techniques.
Good command over MS Excel and reporting tools.
Strong coordination and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Strong knowledge of contractual terms (FIDIC or similar standards).
Experience in billing software / ERP systems.
Expertise in BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, and cost estimation.
Familiarity with high-rise or large-scale construction projects.
Ability to manage multiple contractors and packages simultaneously.
