Join Us as a Contract Billing Manager!

ORBCOMM is seeking an experienced Contract Billing Manager with strong expertise in customer and commercial contracts, subscription-based billing, and account renewals. This role is responsible for ensuring customer invoices and renewals are accurately executed in accordance with client contracts, Statements of Work (SOWs), service agreements, and pricing schedules.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience reviewing and interpreting commercial customer contracts to ensure billing accuracy, renewal compliance, and alignment with accounting and revenue recognition requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Own end-to-end contract-based customer billing, ensuring invoices align with commercial terms defined in customer contracts.
  • Review, interpret, and apply customer agreements, MSAs, SOWs, amendments, pricing schedules, and renewal clauses for accurate billing execution.
  • Manage customer account renewals, including contract validation, pricing accuracy, billing continuity, and renewal effective dates.
  • Ensure billing reflects contractual pricing, usage terms, renewal periods, discounts, and service changes.
  • Perform billing and revenue reconciliation between contracts, billing systems, and accounting records.
  • Partner with Sales and Customer Success to validate contract renewals and changes prior to billing.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Finance teams to resolve contract interpretation or billing discrepancies.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities related to contract billing and revenue recognition.
  • Generate, review, and finalize proformas and renewal invoices in accordance with customer contracts.
  • Ensure invoices comply with customer contractual obligations, SOAs, and company billing policies.
  • Submit electronic customer invoices, track billing status, and support collections as required.
  • Maintain accurate contract billing documentation and audit trails.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen contract compliance, billing accuracy, and renewal efficiency.
  • Provide guidance to billing team members on interpreting customer contract terms for billing and renewals.

Who You Are

You are a commercially focused billing professional with strong accounting knowledge and proven experience working with customer-facing contracts, not HR or employment agreements.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 6-8+ years of experience in contract billing, customer billing operations, renewals, or revenue accounting.
  • Demonstrated experience working with commercial customer contracts such as MSAs, SOWs, subscription agreements, or service contracts.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, revenue recognition, and billing reconciliations.
  • Experience using ERP and billing systems such as JDE, Oracle, NetSuite, SAP, or similar platforms.

Skills & Competencies

Proven ability to read, analyze, and interpret commercial customer contracts and translate terms into accurate billing.

  • Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail with a compliance-focused mindset.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Sales, Legal, Finance, and Customer Success teams.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple customer renewals and billing cycles concurrently.
  • Experience with subscription, recurring, or usage-based billing models is a plus.
  • Experience with e-billing platforms and multi-customer environments is an advantage.
