Commis II & III – Continental
You are responsible for the daily food preparation and duties assigned to meet the set standards in the Continental kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide the highest and most efficient level of hospitality service.
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of Continental dishes as per standard recipes and guidelines.
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
- Cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and the food preparation checklist.
- Slice, grind, marinate, sauté, grill, and cook food using a full range of cooking methods.
- Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables, and measure ingredients in correct proportions.
- Check supplies and prep lists and ensure all items are prepared in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the work area according to the standards set by the employer.
- Coordinate and participate with other kitchen sections regarding requirements, cleanliness, waste control, and cost control.
- Assist in plating and presentation of Continental dishes according to restaurant standards.
- Support senior chefs in kitchen operations and ensure smooth service during busy hours.
