This role is for content moderation for US News

Contract duration: 12 months

Skillset

Digital editor with 2+ years of news experience.

Extensive knowledge of U.S. and international news, with hands-on experience in moderating U.S. news content across politics, business, entertainment, and current affairs.

Knowledgeable and passionate about U.S. and international newsmakers, key events.

Strong research capability and excellent command of language and grammar to accurately review, assess, and flag news content as a moderator.

Previous experience with CMS (Content Management System) tool, a plus

Native or near-native fluency in the English language

Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field. With a strong understanding of journalism ethics and standards.

Responsibilities

Review, screen, and approve news content (text, headlines, images) to ensure it meets editorial, legal, and platform guidelines.

Monitor AI-generated or partner-submitted news items for accuracy, relevance, tone, and brand safety; flag or escalate borderline content.

Verify key facts, names, dates, and attributions in U.S. and international news stories to reduce misinformation and duplication.

Tag, categorise, and update stories in the CMS to maintain a clean news taxonomy and better audience discovery.

Stay updated on breaking news cycles in the U.S. and globally to make faster and more accurate moderation calls.
