Cloud Security Specialist - Consultant
Location: Mumbai
Job Summary
We are seeking a
Cloud Security Expert to define, implement, and continuously improve security controls across
AWS and Azure environments. This role owns
cloud security architecture, posture management, threat detection/response enablement, and acts as a key SME to
complete customer/security duediligence questionnaires (DDQs) with accurate, evidence-backed responses (policies, controls, audit artifacts).
Key Responsibilities- Cloud Security Architecture & Governance (AWS + Azure)
- Review, Design, and enforce secure cloud baselines aligned to best practices: IAM least privilege, encryption, logging/monitoring, network segmentation, change control
- Implement and govern cloud security services:
- Azure: Entra ID/RBAC, Key Vault, Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud, Azure Firewall/WAF, Log Analytics/Sentinel patterns.
- AWS: IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, Config, GuardDuty, Security Hub, WAF (and/or Network Firewall patterns).
- Coordinate with SOC/SIEM/EDR stakeholders and cloud teams to ensure measurable improvements in security posture.
- Security Operations Enablement & Automation (DevSecOps)
- Drive CSPM/threat detection integration and operational workflows (alerts, triage, playbooks, incident readiness).
- Embed security controls into delivery pipelines (IaC scanning, policy-as-code, secrets handling) and automate remediation where feasible.
- Coordinate with SOC/SIEM/EDR stakeholders and cloud teams to ensure measurable improvements in security posture.
- Customer Assurance: Security DDQs, Audits & Evidence
- Own/lead responses to security DDQs and vendor questionnaires, ensuring responses are consistent, accurate, and mapped to evidence (policies, SOC reports, control descriptions, diagrams).
- Maintain a reusable response library and evidence pack (e.g., cloud security architecture overview, TOMs, incident response policy references).
- Partner with InfoSec/Legal/Delivery teams to address followups and ensure commitments are realistic and supportable.
Required Skills- Experience: 8+ years in security/cloud engineering; strong handson security delivery across AWS + Azure.
- Azure Security: Entra ID/RBAC, Key Vault, Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud, Azure Firewall/WAF, monitoring/log analytics (Sentinel concepts).
- AWS Security: IAM, KMS, Config, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Security Hub, network/WAF controls.
- Security Governance: ability to explain controls clearly (encryption, access, logging, vulnerability mgmt, incident response, DR/BCP) in DDQs
- DevSecOps & Tooling: IaC/policy checks, vulnerability management concepts; SIEM/EDR/CSPM familiarity.
- Strong documentation and stakeholder communication (security reviews, diagrams, audit-ready narratives).
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ500)
- AWS Certified Security Specialty / Solutions Architect (Pro)
- CISSP / CCSP / CISM (nice to have)
Good To Have
- Experience supporting financial services clients and responding to investor/vendor DDQs (AIMA/AITEC style).
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC2 / ISO27001 / HIPAA) in cloud context.
