Computer Numerical Control Programmer

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate 2D shop drawings and detailed fabrication drawings for sheet metal and perforated panels using AutoCAD.
• Develop and maintain 3D models and assemblies in Autodesk Inventor for production and visualisation.
• Interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and client documentation to ensure all designs meet project and manufacturing requirements.
• Generate and check flat patterns, bending developments, and perforation layouts for production accuracy.
• Create and optimise CNC programs for punching and laser cutting machines, including:
• Trumpf Trumatic 5000 / 6000 (Punching, Sheet Master automation)
• Bystronic Bysprint Fiber 4020 (Laser cutting)
• Liaise with operators, production staff, and quality teams to ensure seamless transition from design to manufacturing.
• Support continuous improvement in production efficiency, material optimisation, and quality control.
• Maintain consistency with company drawing standards and contribute to system and workflow enhancements

Skills & Experience:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) and Inventor (3D) for sheet metal part and assembly design.
• Solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication principles, including folds, tolerances, and K-factors.
• Experience with perforation layouts, façade detailing, and custom pattern design preferred.
• Working knowledge of CNC punching and laser cutting workflows.
• Ability to interpret and generate manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and nesting data.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to design accuracy.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years experience in sheet metal fabrication, design, or manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Trumpf and/or Bystronic systems highly desirable.
• Understanding of perforated metal products, façade systems, or architectural metalwork advantageous.
