Job Description: Compliance Manager
Position Overview
The Compliance Manager will be responsible for overseeing regulatory adherence, legal compliance, and risk mitigation across the organization. This role requires strong expertise in legal frameworks, particularly those related to financial regulations, asset security, and resolution processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in drafting legal notices, managing recovery processes, ensuring regulatory alignment, and conducting due diligence on distressed assets.
The Compliance Manager will collaborate with internal teams, vendors, borrowers, and regulatory bodies to ensure that all operational activities meet legal and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance & Governance
Ensure end-to-end compliance with applicable laws, including SARFAESI Act, RBI directives, and other regulatory guidelines.
Draft, vet, and issue various legal notices, agreements, applications, and formal communications.
Maintain detailed documentation of all compliance-related activities, communications, and recovery processes for audit purposes.
Monitor and update compliance policies in alignment with evolving regulatory requirements.
Risk Management & Legal Oversight
Conduct comprehensive due diligence on distressed assets to identify legal risks and support decision-making during acquisitions or recovery actions.
Oversee resolution activities and legal proceedings through various legal forums to safeguard organizational interests.
Manage possession processes for secured assets, including issuance of notices and public announcements.
Track borrower repayment activities to ensure adherence to agreed compliance and resolution terms.
Recovery & Resolution Management
Lead negotiation processes with borrowers to recover dues, including restructuring, settlements, or compromise arrangements.
Support NPA resolution strategies and provide regular updates to senior management regarding recovery status.
Manage CIRP-related submissions, COC meetings, and compliance requirements under insolvency processes.
Operational & Vendor Compliance
Manage MIS data, ensuring accuracy and compliance monitoring for all accounts.
Oversee vendor onboarding and ensure contractual compliance with legal and operational standards.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and compliant handling of legal and operational matters.
Process Improvement & Policy Development
Develop process enhancements to strengthen compliance systems and reduce operational risks.
Lead strategic initiatives to support organic and inorganic growth while ensuring full regulatory alignment.
Conduct training sessions to improve compliance awareness within internal teams.

Qualifications & Skills
LL.B. with strong knowledge of legal and compliance frameworks.
Proven experience handling SARFAESI Act matters, recovery management, and legal resolutions.
Strong drafting, vetting, and documentation capabilities.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret legal risks and compliance requirements.
Proficient in MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong communication skills and ability to interact with borrowers, regulators, legal forums, and internal leadership.
Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and manage multiple compliance projects simultaneously.
