Job Description

1. Compliance Management & Tool Monitoring

  • Lead end-to-end compliance management across multiple regulatory frameworks (central, state, and industry-specific laws).
  • Monitor applicability, timelines, and implementation of statutory requirements across locations and business units on Compliance Tool. Sanitize & maintain compliance trackers, calendars, and dashboards
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and build standardized audit checklists and reporting templates for cross-functional team as per the Compliance tool.
  • Interpret evolving laws and policies and translate them into actionable business processes.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, and compliance partners.
  • Ensure compliance in specialized sectors (e.g., excise, warehousing, FSSAI, industrial regulations, etc., as applicable).
  • Conduct periodic internal audits to assess adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify compliance gaps, risks, and process inefficiencies; recommend corrective actions.

2. Contract Lifecycle Management

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including: Vendor and supplier agreements, Consulting and retainer agreements, Distribution and commercial contracts, Settlement agreements and legal notices
  • Ensure contracts are aligned with business objectives while safeguarding legal and financial interests.
  • Develop and standardize contract templates, clauses (including indemnity, limitation of liability, confidentiality, data protection, etc.).
  • Manage end-to-end contract lifecycle: drafting → negotiation → execution → renewal → closure.

3. Risk Assessment & Legal Advisory

  • Identify legal, regulatory, and operational risks across business activities.
  • Provide proactive legal advice to business teams on transactions, compliance, and operations.
  • Support Corporate Governance, Statutory communication, notice responses, and regulatory communications.
  • Ensure risk mitigation through strong documentation and contractual safeguards.

4. Policy Development & Governance

  • Draft and implement internal policies, SOPs, and governance frameworks.
  • Ensure alignment of company practices with applicable laws and internal standards.

5. Cross-functional Coordination

  • Work closely with HR, operations, business, finance, procurement, and plant teams.
  • Act as a central point for all compliance and contract-related queries.

6. Documentation & Regulatory Filings

  • Maintain accurate records of contracts, licenses, approvals, and compliance filings.
  • Oversee timely submission of regulatory filings and responses/excise representation to authorities.
  • Ensure proper documentation for inspections, audits, and legal proceedings.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong expertise in contract drafting and negotiation
  • Knowledge of Alcoholic beverages regulatory and compliance frameworks with experience in compliance audits and system design
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and documentation discipline
  • Ability to translate legal requirements into business processes
  • Minimum 4-5 years of in-house experience in compliance tool management [preferably Lexcare Global] and contract management.
