Job Description:
Primary Skills: CommvaultSecondary Skill - NetBackup, Backup Exec & Cloud Backup Primary Skill - Commvault Backup solution:
Designing and Implementing Commvault backup solution in cluster mode.
Initial Configuration of Commvault and Storage
Test and validate new implementations of Commvault backup solution
Troubleshoot Commvault client backup & restoration issues.
Proficient with Commvault backup Administration, maintenance, troubleshooting and Implementations
Installation of Commvault CommServe Server, Agent and media server
Configuration of Commvault data protector SQL, VM and Oracle
Performance tuning and optimization for Commvault server and client.
Should possess good knowledge on performance management for Backup/ Restore.
Possess good understanding on deduplication, synthetic backup and data sizing etc.
Installing/Upgrading of Commvault server and client agent
Perform backup node commission, decommission
Creating backup selections, media sets
Taking Catalog backups and DB backups of Commvault, TSM, NetBackup & Backup Exec for recovery purpose
Experience on different tapes and library technologies, i.e. IBM/ HP etc.
Use knowledge base in identifying issues on Physical and Virtual Tape Libraries
Labelling Media Tapes ,managing Onsite and Offsite Tapes
Tape retention management, periodic Tape drive cleaning, Tape Library Web console management
Isolate network throughput issues in case of back up failures or back up performance degrade.
Experience on cloud backup solution and integration with Commvault
Perform back up task operations on-cloud infrastructure
Manage scheduled and ad-hoc backups and restoration
Maintains and monitors Backup servers, storage and tape libraries.
Completes backup and recovery, data migration, connectivity, and reporting requests
Good knowledge in Scripting & Automation
Backup Management: Troubleshooting Backup Failures, Understanding Backup Job Status Codes, Configure backup policies for client aware applications like Oracle, MS- SQL, MS- Exchange, VMWare, NDMP, Flat File. Client Specific and advance Restores, Knowledge of Data Classifications.
Backup/ Restore schedules: Identifying the backup residing (tape / disk) locations. Initiation of restore. Knowledge on the Backup schedules as per customer requirements.
Virtualization (VTL) : Working knowledge of VTL (EMC Data Domain & IBM Protectier.
Create and/or update SOPs, KCDB and Runbooks.
Secondary Skill - NetBackup, Backup Exec & Cloud Backup /Double Take:
Installing/Upgrading backup master/media server and client agent
Good exposure to advance backup functions like Oracle DB backup, SQL backup, NDMP backups, VMware VADP backup, Flat file backup, exchange backup etc
Good understanding of different OS and their file systems, i.e. AIX, HPUX, Solaris, windows etc. Know the Concepts in VMware and the Functionality of Virtual Center. Should know the basic functionality of VMware ESX
Good experience on cloud backup
Entry level knowledge for Double Take
Handling Backup Activites on daily, weekly and Monthly . Generating the Reports on all Backup acitivites.
Strong problem-solving and attention to detail. Good analytical and troubleshooting skills
Good experience working on Ticketing tools like Service Now
Ready to work in 24x7 support, good communication skills & awareness of ITIL Processes
