MyYogaTeacher is a fast-growing health tech startup on a mission to improve the physical and mental well-being of people across the world. We are the first online marketplace connecting highly qualified yoga and fitness coaches from India with global clients through personalized live sessions. We serve a global community and are building meaningful human connections through wellness.

Role Overview

We are looking for a people-first Community Manager who genuinely enjoys interacting with others and building relationships at scale. This role is for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, takes initiative without waiting for instructions, and knows how to create a warm, engaging, and authentic community experience.

You will be the bridge between our brand and our members - nurturing relationships, driving engagement, resolving concerns thoughtfully, and making every member feel seen and valued.

This role will own both the student and teacher communities, across on-platform and off-platform channels, ensuring a connected, high-value experience for all stakeholders.

This is not a strict 9-to-5 role. Community energy doesn't follow office hours, so we're looking for someone flexible, responsive, and deeply invested in building something meaningful.

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement & Relationship Building

  • Build genuine relationships with students, teachers, and members across digital channels (WhatsApp, email, social groups, community forums, etc.)
  • Manage and grow both student and teacher communities on-platform and off-platform
  • Create an environment where members feel welcomed, heard, and excited to participate
  • Start conversations, encourage participation, and maintain active engagement across communities
  • Strengthen loyalty and trust through consistent communication and relationship-building

Proactive Ownership

  • Take initiative to solve issues before they escalate
  • Spot gaps in engagement, communication, or experience and act on them quickly
  • Be available during important community moments, launches, or escalations when needed
  • Operate with a founder mindset and strong ownership mentality

Communication & Emotional Intelligence

  • Handle sensitive conversations with empathy, maturity, and tact
  • Navigate different personalities, emotions, and expectations gracefully
  • Adapt communication style based on the individual and situation
  • Build trust while maintaining clear boundaries and professionalism

Content & Community Growth

  • Create engaging posts, prompts, updates, newsletters, or conversations that keep the community active
  • Write in a tone that feels human, warm, and aligned with the brand
  • Collaborate with internal teams on campaigns, launches, and engagement initiatives
  • Gather community insights and feedback to improve retention and growth

Events & Offline Engagement

  • Support planning and execution of offline community events, workshops, and meetups in the US
  • Coordinate with internal teams, teachers, partners, and vendors for successful event delivery
  • Help create memorable brand experiences that strengthen community connection

Feedback Loop & Insights

  • Be the voice of the community internally
  • Share recurring concerns, requests, and ideas with product, operations, and leadership teams
  • Measure engagement trends and recommend improvements
  • Use AI-powered tools to streamline workflows, analyze feedback, automate routine tasks, and improve community engagement efforts

Qualifications

Required

  • 4 to 6 years of experience in Community Management, Customer Success, Engagement, or similar roles
  • Strong communication skills (spoken and written English)
  • High emotional intelligence and strong people instincts
  • Natural ability to build rapport with diverse personalities
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Strong ownership and proactive problem-solving mindset
  • Flexible with work hours when community needs arise
  • Basic content creation / writing ability for social or community engagement
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, automation tools, CRM workflows, or analytics platforms

Preferred

  • Prior experience in Wellness, Fitness, EdTech, or HealthTech industries
  • Experience working with global communities or international customer bases
  • Exposure to event coordination or offline community-building initiatives
