Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development: Build and mentor a high-performing finance team, expanding their capabilities and responsibilities to support evolving business needs.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with Sales and other functional leaders to align budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning with overall business strategy.
  • Financial Forecasting & Analysis: Lead the development and maintenance of accurate forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and margin reviews to drive informed decision-making and positive business outcomes.
  • Operational Planning & Execution: Develop the annual operating plan with commercial leadership, aligning revenue targets and expense budgets to drive sustainable growth.
  • Margin & Cash Improvements: Manage local legal entity spending budgets and drive cost improvements. Partner with Accounts Receivable teams to improve regional DSO and accelerate cash flows
  • Pricing & Commercial Planning: Manage regional pricing initiatives, rebate and commission strategies, and commercial plans that align short-term actions with long-term financial goals.
  • Order Management & Revenue Recognition: Oversee order forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis while ensuring compliance with revenue recognition standards and improving order-to-cash processes.
  • Implementation & utilization of VBS tools to improve growth and profitability – in particular funnel management, key account management, FPP (strategic pricing analysis, regional profitability analysis, S&OP demand planning
  • Process Improvement & Compliance: Establish and enhance key commercial finance and accounting processes, including contract reviews.
  • Performance Reporting & Insights: Deliver proactive, timely, and insightful commercial performance reports to support achievement of monthly and quarterly targets, highlighting risks and opportunities.
  • Sales Data Analysis & Business Enablement: Analyze sales trends to identify challenges and opportunities; support commercial teams with quoting, re-quoting, and resource allocation decisions to optimize margins. Approve price deviations.
  • Strategic Resource Support: Advise commercial leadership on headcount investments and resource redeployment in line with strategic business priorities.

Essential

Required Skills / Qualifications / Certifications / Tech Stack

  • 10+ years experience in a Financial Leadership role
  • Finance or equivalent higher education degree

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid work model combining office presence with work from home/remote arrangements.
  • Matrix organisational structure requiring multitasking and cross-functional collaboration across multiple time zones.
  • Multicultural, geographically dispersed teams necessitating strong communication and coordination skills across varied time zones.

Physical Demands:

  • Predominantly sedentary, involving extended periods of sitting at a computer or attending meetings.
  • Requires sustained visual focus for financial analysis, data review, and detailed reporting.
  • Frequent use of computers, smartphones, and other office equipment.
  • Occasional walking and standing during meetings, office collaboration, and site visits.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours and adapt to varying time zones during critical periods.
