About The Role
We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, optimize, and maintain our database infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS environments, database replication, clustering, failover, and performance tuning to ensure high availability and optimal performance of mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases across multiple environments.
- Manage and optimize database performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Implement and maintain replication, clustering, and failover mechanisms.
- Perform regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery drills.
- Work with AWS services (RDS, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, IAM) to manage cloud-based database infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation and monitoring.
- Perform query optimization and performance tuning using pgAdmin and related tools.
- Configure and manage pgBouncer for connection pooling.
- Manage AWS DMS for data migration and synchronization.
- Monitor databases proactively and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years of hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL DBA in production environments.
- Strong expertise in replication, clustering, failover, and high availability solutions.
- Experience with AWS services RDS, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, IAM.
- Proficient in Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting.
- Experience with pgAdmin, pgBouncer, and AWS DMS.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of database security, backup, and recovery strategies.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
