We're looking for a hands-on Collections Manager who thrives in afast-paced environment and is excited to take ownership of our collections function. This is not just a management role--you'll be in the trenches with your team, driving collections, solving problems, and building processes that scale.
You'll lead a high-impact team, work cross-functionally, and play a critical role in improving cash flow while delivering a great customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Own Collections End-to-End:
- Drive collections on outstanding receivables and reduce aging across global portfolios.
- Lead daily outreach efforts and ensure timely follow-ups on overdue accounts.
- Dive into billing discrepancies, resolve disputes, and unblock payments.
- Oversee payment reconciliations and ensure clean, accurate records.
- Ensure timely issuance of customer statements.
2. Lead & Build a High-Performing Team:
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of collections specialists over multiple shifts and schedules.
- Set clear goals, track performance, and keep the team accountable.
- Coach team members on negotiations, customer conversations, and problem-solving.
- Build a culture of ownership, urgency, and continuous improvement.
3. Collaborate & Solve Problems:
- Partner closely with Sales on credit holds and customer escalations.
- Work with Finance and Accounting to ensure smooth reconciliation and reporting.
- Act as the bridge between customers and internal teams to resolve issues quickly.
4. Improve & Scale Processes:
- Bring structure to collections processes and enforce best practices.
- Identify inefficiencies and implement smarter, faster ways of working.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
5. Use Data to Drive Decisions:
- Track key metrics like aging, recovery rates, and team performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of collection activities.
- Use insights to continuously improve collections efficiency andcash flow.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 4-6 years of experience in collections / accounts receivable preferably in a US-based organization.
- 1-2 years of experience leading or mentoring a team.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills-you know how to get things done.
- High attention to detail with a problem-solving mindset.
- Comfort working with data, systems, and fast-moving environments.
