MRSH is building an AI-powered financial platform for freelancers and independent workers operating across borders.

Freelancers can work with clients anywhere in the world, but getting paid is still unnecessarily complicated. Invoices, payment follow-ups, international payment fees, currency conversion, delayed payments, and cash-flow management are often handled across disconnected tools.

MRSH brings these workflows together — invoice, collect, get paid, and manage cash flow — with automation and AI at the core.

Our long-term goal is to build the financial operating system for the global independent workforce.

Role Description

I'm looking for a Technical Co-Founder to build MRSH with me from 0 → 1.

This is a founder-level role, not a traditional engineering position. You will have meaningful ownership in shaping the technology, product, business strategy, and direction of the company.

You should be someone who can go beyond writing code — someone who enjoys understanding customers, challenging assumptions, making product decisions, building systems, and figuring out how to turn an idea into a real business.

You will work closely with me across product, engineering, customer discovery, growth, partnerships, fundraising, and eventually hiring and team building.

What You'll Own

• Help define MRSH's technical architecture and long-term technology strategy.
• Build and ship core product capabilities across backend, APIs, infrastructure, AI, and integrations.
• Work directly with users to understand problems and translate them into product decisions.
• Help define the product roadmap and prioritize what we should build next.
• Make practical decisions around scalability, reliability, security, performance, and engineering velocity.
• Experiment with AI and automation to solve real financial workflows.
• Help develop our go-to-market strategy and identify early customer segments.
• Build relationships with customers, partners, payment providers, and other strategic stakeholders.
• Use product, customer, and market data to guide decisions.
• Participate in fundraising, hiring, and building the early team.
• Take ownership of problems outside your formal role when the company needs it.

What We're Looking For

• Strong software engineering background with experience building and shipping production software.
• Strong understanding of backend systems, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and system design.
• Ability to make sound technical decisions without over-engineering.
• Strong product thinking and the ability to connect technology decisions with customer and business outcomes.
• Experience with AI/ML, fintech, payments, SaaS, developer products, or financial infrastructure is a strong plus.
• Experience working at MAANG or another strong technology company is a plus, especially in engineering, infrastructure, AI, payments, or large-scale systems.
• Startup or previous founding experience is highly valuable, but not mandatory.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Comfortable speaking with customers, investors, partners, and engineers.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions with incomplete information.
• Willingness to operate across technology, product, business, and growth.
• Strong ownership, curiosity, resilience, and long-term commitment to building a company.

Compensation & Equity

This is an equity-only Co-Founder opportunity at the current stage.

MRSH is currently pre-seed, and there is no salary, monthly stipend, or guaranteed cash compensation before the seed round.

The Co-Founder will receive equity in MRSH. The exact equity allocation will be discussed and mutually agreed based on the person's experience, commitment, responsibilities, and expected contribution to the company.

After MRSH completes its seed funding round, we intend to introduce cash compensation alongside the agreed founder equity, subject to the company's financial position and the terms of the funding round.

To make this completely clear:

• Before the seed round: Equity only.
• No salary or guaranteed cash compensation before the seed round.
• After the seed round: Cash compensation is expected to be introduced alongside founder equity.
• The exact equity, vesting, and founder terms will be discussed transparently before joining.
• This is a full-time Co-Founder position, not an unpaid employee or contractor role.

If you are not comfortable with the risk of joining at this stage, this role may not be the right fit — and that's completely okay. We want to be transparent about the situation from day one.
