Job Purpose:

The CNC Programmer is responsible for creating, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs to produce precise, high-quality parts and components. This role involves translating engineering designs into machine instructions, setting up CNC machines, and ensuring parts are manufactured to exact specifications. The CNC Programmer works closely with engineering and production teams to support efficient and accurate machining processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review 3D designs, engineering drawings, models, and/or samples for CNC machining operations.
  • Create CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam) to support multi-axial lathes and 5-axis milling machines.
  • Design and create custom tooling and fixtures for machining and assembly.
  • Generate CNC programs, tooling lists, cutting parameters, jigs and fixtures; run simulations and tests.
  • Create work instructions, setup sheets, and geometric data for machinists to follow.
  • Communicate effectively with leaders and machinists who will use the programs.
  • Contribute to the training and development of CNC department personnel.
  • Improve setup processes to increase efficiency and output, including reducing setup time and scrap.
  • Monitor all programs to ensure compliance with blueprint instructions and safe, successful execution.
  • Follow up on corrective actions related to quality issues, process improvements, and design changes.
  • Review and design machining processes to ensure optimal cycle times and eliminate waste.
  • Work closely with production and quality teams to ensure on-time delivery to customers.
  • Comply with all Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials safety rules and company policies.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Diploma, or Vocational qualification in a related field.

Experience / Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in CNC programming, including 3-axis turning and 5-axis milling.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience operating CNC equipment with FANUC controls.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software, preferably Mastercam and SolidWorks.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code, M-code).
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machine operation and setup.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and blueprints.
  • This position is open for any nationality and visa/ work permit support will be provided.

Knowledge & Competencies:

  • Ability to communicate in English at a technical level.
  • Computer-literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
  • Detail-oriented and highly efficient.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple programming tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot programming and machining issues effectively.
