Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator/Machinist to join the CNC Machinist Team. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering and will be responsible for setting up and operating HMC/VMC (Horizontal/Vertical Machining Center) machines to produce precision parts and tools. This role requires expertise in operating computer numeric-controlled machinery, inspecting finished products, and contributing to a safe and efficient work environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation: Set up and operate CNC equipment to cut, grind, or drill into metal, plastic, or other materials.
  • Precision Work: Use precision tools, machinery, and equipment, such as a lathe, vertical milling machine, and drill press, to fabricate and shape parts.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure they are free of defects and meet all tolerance requirements using gauges and measuring instruments.
  • Safety and Maintenance: Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner and maintain daily machine and equipment cleanliness (5S). You'll also follow preventative maintenance standards.
  • Problem-Solving: Confer with engineers and supervisors to resolve machining or assembly problems.
  • Continuous Improvement: Utilize and abide by ISO (International Organization for Standardization) requirements and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Skills Required

  • Education: A Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, ITI (Industrial Training Institute), BE (Bachelor of Engineering), or an equivalent qualification is required.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with computer numeric-controlled heavy machinery, including HMC/VMC.
  • Tool Knowledge: Expertise in using precision tools, machinery, and equipment.
  • Quality Focus: The ability to inspect finished products and ensure they meet tolerance requirements.
  • Safety and Compliance: A commitment to safety procedures, ISO requirements, and all company policies.
