CNC Operator- EDM Technician

We are seeking an experienced CNC Operator-EDM Technician to set up and operate Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) equipment. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering and will be responsible for machining quality products that meet tight tolerances while maintaining a safe work environment. This role requires the ability to work independently, interpret blueprints, and program machines.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Perform the setup and operation of wire and sinker EDM machines to support production.
• Programming and Design: Create programs according to blueprints using the machine's software. You will also be responsible for designing the required electrodes and any necessary fixturing or work holding.
• Process Control: Determine machining requirements, dimensional specifications, and setup requirements from process sheets and blueprints. You'll select, preset, and adjust settings for optimal spark gaps, speed, and tolerances.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure the effective production of quality parts by performing in-process and final checks using gauges and measuring equipment.
• Efficiency: Ensure all machining tasks are completed in accordance with specified run times. You will also observe numerical displays on the control panel to verify dimensional adjustments.

Skills Required

• Education: A Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, ITI (Industrial Training Institute), BE (Bachelor of Engineering), or an equivalent qualification is required.
• Technical Proficiency: Proven experience in setting up and operating wire and sinker EDM machines.
• Programming Skills: The ability to create and edit programs using machine software.
• Design Skills: Experience in designing electrodes and fixturing.
• Quality Focus: The ability to use gauges and measuring equipment to ensure products meet tight tolerances and quality expectations.
• Independence: A proven track record of working independently to meet production goals.
