Reporting To: Quality Manager / Inspection Head
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CMM Operator / Programmer / Engineer to manage coordinate measuring machine (CMM) operations, programming, and inspection activities. The candidate will ensure precision measurement of components, adherence to quality standards, and support the engineering and production teams in maintaining dimensional accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
CMM Operation
Operate coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to inspect machined components.
Measure parts using CAD-based programs or manually for first article inspection.
Verify dimensional accuracy of components against engineering drawings and specifications.
CMM Programming
Develop and maintain CMM inspection programs using software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent.
Optimize measurement strategies and probe paths for efficient inspection.
Update programs for new products, revisions, and process improvements.
Quality Assurance Reporting
Analyze measurement results and generate inspection reports.
Coordinate with production and engineering teams to resolve dimensional non-conformities.
Maintain records of calibration, measurement, and inspection reports.
Continuous Improvement
Suggest improvements in measurement methods and processes.
Participate in root cause analysis for dimensional discrepancies.
Support quality audits and compliance with ISO / AS9100 / IATF standards (if applicable).
Required Skills Qualifications
Diploma / B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Tool Die Engineering.
1+ years of experience as CMM Operator, Programmer, or Engineer.
Hands-on experience with CMM machines (Zeiss, Mitutoyo, Hexagon, Wenzel).
Proficiency in CMM programming software: PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent.
Good understanding of GDT (Geometric Dimensioning Tolerancing).
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of inspection standards and quality management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in automotive, aerospace, or heavy engineering industries.
Knowledge of CAD software: SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, or NX.
Ability to train junior operators and lead inspection teams.
