As a Systems Engineer-Cloud in Pune, you will join a diverse, passionate team, dedicated to powering the world's payments ecosystem!

JOB PURPOSE

The Cloud Engineer independently provisions and manages cloud infrastructure, develops infrastructure as code, and implements security and networking controls. This mid-level position focuses on building reliable cloud environments, driving automation, and mentoring junior cloud engineers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Cloud Infrastructure & Automation

  • Independently provision and manage cloud infrastructure and services

  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code to ensure repeatable, version-controlled deployments

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure provisioning and deployment

  • Implement automation to reduce manual effort and improve deployment efficiency

  • Contribute to cloud environment optimization and capacity planning

Security, Networking & Compliance

  • Implement cloud security controls and compliance guardrails across environments

  • Configure and maintain cloud networking including connectivity, routing, and access policies

  • Support identity and access management implementations

  • Participate in security reviews and vulnerability remediation

  • Contribute to cloud cost monitoring and optimization efforts

Collaboration & Mentorship

  • Mentor junior cloud engineers on tools, processes, and best practices

  • Collaborate with Cloud Architects on translating designs into production infrastructure

  • Participate in architectural reviews and contribute technical input

  • Share knowledge through documentation updates and team discussions

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field

  • Equivalent experience (4+ years) may substitute for degree

Experience

  • 6+ years of professional experience in cloud engineering or DevOps

  • Proven track record of independently managing cloud infrastructure

  • Experience implementing security controls and networking configurations

  • Payments, financial services, or regulated industry experience preferred

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency with cloud platform services and infrastructure

  • Solid infrastructure as code skills for defining and managing cloud environments

  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure

  • Working knowledge of cloud security, IAM, and compliance practices

  • Strong networking knowledge including connectivity, routing, and load balancing

  • Proficient scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar)

  • Understanding of cloud cost management and optimization techniques

Professional Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent communication skills for technical collaboration

  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently

  • Collaborative team player with mentoring capabilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments

  • Cloud platform certifications (associate or professional level)

  • Familiarity with container orchestration and microservices infrastructure

  • Experience with cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Hybrid work model (3 days in-office)

  • Minimal travel required occasional team meetings or training

  • Standard business hours with occasional extended hours for deployments or incident.
