About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic IT team at RBL Bank. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role involves executing service and change requests, supporting disaster recovery drills, and ensuring our cloud environment adheres to best practices and compliance standards. The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions. The role requires a proactive individual with a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, including rotational shifts.
Qualifications
Essential qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Candidates should possess 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services and tools. Experience with solutions such as Google App Engine, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, and open-source communities is essential. A solid understanding of core data structures, CI/CD pipelines, web technologies, and networking concepts on Linux/Unix and Windows platforms is required. The candidate should have demonstrated expertise in designing multi-tenant IaaS and PaaS solutions on GCP, with familiarity in cloud security best practices, automation scripting languages (Python, Bash, Ansible), and cloud solution design patterns such as microservices, messaging, and containers. Experience with GCP management and monitoring tools, troubleshooting, and working with data science services like BigQuery, Vertex AI, and DataProc is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Execute service and change requests within defined SLA and turnaround time (TAT) to ensure seamless cloud operations.
- Participate in scheduled operational activities, including Disaster Recovery (DR) drills, deployments, and patching to maintain system integrity and resilience.
- Define, document, and implement best practices and strategies for application deployment and infrastructure maintenance, ensuring consistency and security.
- Understand the existing application infrastructure and recommend improvements to optimize performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to cloud best practices and compliance standards using Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) tools.
- Assist in root cause analysis and implement mitigation strategies for critical incidents to minimize downtime and impact.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during planning, designing, and solutioning discussions to develop scalable cloud architectures.
- Monitor cloud resources through health checks, alerts, and notifications to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Support technical and non-technical stakeholders in identifying, managing, and optimizing their cloud resources effectively.
- Handle issues related to cloud infrastructure, including networking, Windows, Linux, and platform-specific components, ensuring timely resolution.
