Lead AWS Cloud Automation & FinOps Engineer
Location: Bangalore/Kochi/Mumbai/Pune/Noida/Gurgaon

Role Summary
The Lead AWS Cloud Automation & FinOps Engineer will own the design, governance, and scaling of AWS cloud automation and costoptimization initiatives. This role combines AWS platform ownership, FinOps leadership, and automation governance, ensuring AWS environments are scalable, observable, secure, and costefficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and govern AWS Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) using Terraform / CloudFormation, including scaleup, refactoring, and defect remediation
- Lead automation for AWS environment provisioning:
- Accounts, VPCs, IAM, EC2, EKS, RDS, S3, CloudWatch
- Drive automationled onboarding for:
- UOPs, IDR, and observability on AWS
- Standardized logging, metrics, and alerts (CloudWatch, integrations)
- Lead AWS FinOps strategy:
- Budget creation, cost allocation, tagging standards
- Cost anomaly detection and proactive alerts
- Reserved Instances / Savings Plans optimization
- Define and enforce AWS data lifecycle management
- S3 lifecycle rules, tiering, archival, recycle strategies
- Own AWS capacity planning automation:
- Usage forecasting, autoscaling policies, rightsizing
- Produce and review AWS automation flow diagrams and reference architectures
- Act as technical authority and mentor for AWS automation and FinOps engineers
- Partner with AWS architects, platform, security, and finance teams
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong handson expertise in AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, RDS, EKS, CloudWatch)
- Advanced proficiency in Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible
- Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, Bash
- Proven experience driving AWS FinOps practices
- Experience with AWSnative automation and orchestration
- Strong analytical mindset for cost, performance, and reliability optimization
Experience
- 812 years in AWS Cloud / DevOps / Platform Engineering
- Prior experience as Lead Engineer / Technical Owner
- AWS certification preferred (Solutions Architect / DevOps Engineer)
