Cloud & Network Setup
- Design and manage AWS and AZURE networking including VPCs, subnets, routing, and gateways.
- Set up secure connectivity between cloud and on-prem environments using VPN or Direct Connect.
- Ensure cloud hosted web applications can securely connect to authentication systems and databases.
Hybrid Connectivity & Applications
- Support Active Directory / Entra ID hybrid integration for user authentication.
- Enable secure and reliable application-to-database communication.
- Configure DNS, IP addressing, routing, and firewall rules across environments.
Security & Access Control
- Apply AWS and AZURE security groups, NACLs, and IAM policies based on security best practices.
- Ensure all application and network traffic is encrypted and restricted to approved sources.
- Extend existing security controls such as firewalls, MFA, and endpoint security tools to AWS and AZURE workloads.
Monitoring, Performance & Reliability
- Enable network connectivity for monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.
- Monitor and improve network performance, latency, and bandwidth usage.
- Help manage cloud data transfer costs and optimize network design.
Migration & Integration Support
- Support migration of web applications from on-premises to AWS and AZURE.
- Ensure integrations such as email notifications, APIs, third-party services, and webhooks continue to work after migration.
- Work closely with cloud, system, and application teams during migration and ongoing operations.
Academic & trades qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science/Information Science or a related field.
Work experience & skills
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS and AZURE networking services.
- Good understanding of enterprise networking concepts (VPNs, routing, firewalls, DNS).
- Experience working in hybrid cloud environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot network and connectivity issues across cloud and on-prem systems.
- Clear communication and documentation skills.
