Job Description

Summary:

We are looking for a Cloud Finance Operations (FinOps) Business Analyst to optimize cloud financial efficiency, manage vendor contracts, track cloud spend, and provide detailed cost analyses. The role ensures strategic planning, cost optimization, and operational efficiency for the cloud team while maintaining necessary tools and resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor cloud usage and spending data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize cloud costs.
  • Collaborate with finance operations and technology teams to drive cost optimization initiatives.
  • Analyze cloud usage patterns and trends to identify areas for improvement.
  • Recommend changes to cloud service usage, pricing models, and purchasing options.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to forecast and track cloud costs.
  • Work with cloud service providers to negotiate pricing and contracts.
  • Create reports and dashboards to communicate cloud cost optimization efforts to stakeholders.
  • Manage vendor contract renewals, track service delivery, and manage spend on software and licenses.
  • Perform Purchase Request (PR) submissions, track invoice approvals, and estimate budgets.
  • Maintain an inventory of software licenses and track hardware warranty renewals.
  • Perform cloud consumption analysis, Cloud Cost Allocation Reports (CFAR), and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis for applications.
  • Track consultant time and headcount.
  • Conduct product profitability analysis to ensure financial success.
  • Review and analyze usage of cloud resources, including compute, storage, and network usage, as well as indirect costs like management, security, and compliance.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Experience in cloud cost management, FinOps, or related financial operations roles.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud service cost structures.
  • Experience managing vendor contracts, software licenses, and hardware warranties.
  • Ability to create dashboards and reports for cloud cost tracking and optimization.
  • Familiarity with Cloud Cost Allocation Reports (CFAR) and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to provide insights into cloud usage patterns and identify cost optimization opportunities.
