Azure Local / Azure Stack HCI Engineer (Partner Delivery)1. Azure Stack HCI / Azure Local Core SkillsHands-on expertise with Azure Stack HCI / Azure Local (21H2, 22H2, 23H2+) in customer-facing production environments.Proven experience delivering end-to-end Azure Stack HCI implementations:Design, deployment, expansion, upgrades, and decommissioning.Strong understanding of Azure Stack HCI as an Azure hybrid service, including:Azure subscription registrationPer-core licensing and billingAzure Arc dependency modelExperience working with validated OEM hardware (Dell, HPE, Lenovo, Cisco, etc.).Proficiency with Windows Admin Center, PowerShell-based deployments, and environment validation tooling.Experience performing in-place upgrades, cluster-aware updating (CAU), and lifecycle management (LCM).2. Compute & VirtualizationDeep expertise in HyperV on Azure Stack HCI:VM provisioning, performance tuning, and high availability.Experience running Windows and Linux workloads on HCI clusters.Knowledge of GPU enablement on Azure Stack HCI:GPUP and DDA scenariosVDI, AI/ML, and compute-intensive workloadsFamiliarity with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) on Azure Stack HCI architectures.3. Storage & Data ServicesStrong hands-on experience with Storage Spaces Direct (S2D):Cache/capacity tieringNVMe/SSD/HDD designFault domain awarenessExperience with storage performance tuning, capacity planning, and repair workflows.Knowledge of Storage Replica for disaster recovery and stretch cluster scenarios.4. NetworkingAdvanced understanding of Azure Stack HCI networking:RDMA (RoCE / iWARP)SMB DirectNetwork QoSExperience designing host networking using:SET (Switch Embedded Teaming)VLAN segmentationMTU / Jumbo FramesFamiliarity with SDN concepts and VM network security (NSGs, tag-based segmentation).Strong troubleshooting skills across latency, throughput, and packet loss issues.5. Azure Arc & Hybrid ManagementHands-on experience with Azure Arcenabled Azure Stack HCI.Ability to onboard, manage, and troubleshoot:Arc Resource BridgeArc VM managementArc extensionsExperience integrating HCI with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Policy.Understanding of RBAC and governance models in Arc-enabled environments.6. Security & IdentityKnowledge of Azure Stack HCI security features:Secure Boot, TPM, BitLockerShielded VMsExperience implementing security baselines and hardened configurations.Familiarity with Active Directory and hybrid identity (Microsoft Entra ID).Understanding of Defender for Cloud integration for hybrid infrastructure.7. Kubernetes & Modern WorkloadsExperience deploying and operating AKS on Azure Stack HCI.Understanding of container networking, persistent storage, and upgrades.Familiarity with Arc-enabled Kubernetes and GitOps-based management.8. Monitoring, Operations & SupportExperience setting up monitoring and observability for Azure Stack HCI:Azure MonitorLog AnalyticsProactive loggingStrong L2/L3 troubleshooting capability across compute, storage, and network layers.Understanding of support boundaries, version supportability, and upgrade paths.Experience supporting customer escalations and break/fix scenarios.9.
