Job Description

One Vector is a rapidly growing IT professional services startup specializing in AI/ML, Data Science, Analytics, IT Quality/Compliance, and Pharmacovigilance for biotech companies. Our mission is to empower biotech organizations with cutting-edge solutions and expert insights to drive their success.

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to lead the design, automation, and operation of our AWS-based SaaS platform serving clients in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sector. This role is responsible for streamlining the software development lifecycle, building secure and automated CI/CD pipelines, and architecting scalable, high-availability cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will balance hands-on technical execution with guiding best practices in DevSecOps, compliance with regulatory requirements (HIPAA, GxP), and cloud cost optimization.

You will own the end-to-end DevOps function, from CI/CD workflows and infrastructure automation to monitoring, security hardening, and compliance documentation.

Key Responsibilities

CI/CD & Automation

  • Implement and maintain CI/CD workflows tailored for SaaS applications handling sensitive/regulated data.
  • Automate and improve development, testing, and release processes to ensure repeatable and validated deployments.
  • Integrate security scanning (SAST/DAST, dependency scanning, container image scanning) into pipelines.

Cloud Infrastructure (AWS)

  • Architect and manage scalable, HIPAA-eligible AWS infrastructure (VPC, ECS/EKS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, Bedrock, etc.).
  • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and environment segregation (Dev/Test/Prod).
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation/CDK) for reproducible environments.

Security & Compliance

  • Apply DevSecOps best practices across pipeline and infrastructure management.
  • Manage IAM, secrets, and cloud access controls with principle of least privilege.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, OS/container hardening, and ensure timely patching.
  • Support HIPAA compliance by maintaining audit logs, encryption (at rest & in transit), and incident response readiness.

Monitoring & Reliability

  • Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks (CloudWatch, GuardDuty, centralized logging).
  • Ensure proactive detection and resolution of system reliability or performance issues.

Change & Documentation

  • Plan, implement, and manage infrastructure and release changes through established change control processes.
  • Create and maintain Run Books, cloud architecture diagrams, and operational documentation.
  • Generate deployment evidence (logs, approvals, test results) to support client validation requirements.

Scripting & Maintenance

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and tooling, adapting to new requirements or evolving implementations.
  • Support integration and configuration updates across environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 58 years of DevOps experience, with at least 3+ years in a lead role.
  • Proven expertise in AWS cloud services and infrastructure automation (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK).
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with containerization & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch).
  • Deep understanding of DevSecOps best practices, HIPAA/GxP compliance, and cloud security frameworks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with global teams.

Preferred

  • Experience of working with US/EU based teams
  • Certifications : AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or equivalent.
