Purpose And Scope

The Clinical Data Engineer role serves the purpose of fostering innovation and operational efficiency through the facilitation of data-driven decision-making processes, expediting drug discovery initiatives, and bolstering regulatory compliance efforts. This role involves designing and implementing customized data pipeline architecture solutions tailored to the complexities of life sciences research and development. It also includes supervising the integration and management of various clinical data and data sources, such as clinical trials data, operational data, lab data, wearables data, and real-world evidence.

Through close collaboration with study leads, research scientists, statisticians, clinicians, regulatory experts, and DigitalX professionals, this role establishes and upholds robust data architecture frameworks that align harmoniously with business objectives, regulatory mandates, and industry standards. Expertise in Data Engineering, Data Modeling, and adeptly managing governance processes is essential for maintaining the integrity, security, and accessibility of data assets. This role holds a strategic position in advancing the life sciences company's mission by using data to drive scientific progress, improve patient outcomes, and efficiently and securely introduce ground-breaking therapies to the market.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for delivering MDM features and capabilities on Reltio MDM platform. This role will work cross-functionally and is accountable for Business as Usual and new development activities.
  • Acts as a Subject Matter Expert in MDM, specifically on Reltio platform.
  • Engages with business owners to define key business requirements and converts these requirements into technical specifications.
  • In accordance with business requirements, develop all aspects of a Reltio solution including but not limited to Data Load/Export, perform complex mapping, matching and survivorship rules, data cleansing, deduplication, standardization, and data model configuration.
  • Be actively involved in testing and validation activities for all new development work. Coordinate with Data Lake teams in migrating code to higher environments and ensuring that Data Lakes and consuming systems reflect the MDM data.
  • Participate in design and code reviews to ensure solution capabilities deliver value, in partnership with key DigitalX and business stakeholders.
  • Enthusiastically engage with cross-functional teams in seeking opportunities to enhance existing processes, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Maintain applicable security access and privileges, mapping users roles with appropriate Reltio custom roles.
  • Proactively track and maintain all Reltio automated jobs, ensuring timely intake of MDM data by end consuming systems.
  • Identify use cases to harmonize data across Clinical Trial Management, ensuring tracing and tracking of data sets across Pre-commercial to Medicinal Products.
  • Actively participate in maintaining the backlog of activities, on Azure DevOps services.

Required Qualifications And Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in Reltio MDM development.
  • Good understanding of Reltio cloud-native architecture, graph data model, and ML integrations.
  • Proficient in Reltio data model configuration (Entity types, attributes), matching rules, operational values and survivorship rules, relationships, User Interface, and hierarchies.
  • Experienced in tuning matching rules to reduce duplicates in the Entities data.
  • Competent in working with Reltio REST APIs.
  • Good experience in working with Reltio Integration Hub (RIH) recipe building and workflows, data integration concepts.
  • Experienced in loading and exporting data from Reltio Hub and automating the processes.
  • Skilled in designing best practices, design principles, and data governance frameworks. Should have an inherent desire to innovate.
  • Experience working in an agile methodology, distributed version control and management (such as GitHub).
  • Good experience in general purpose programming language such as Python.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, and technical experts.
  • Good understanding of the SLC processes for GxP and non-GxP data sets.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in computer science or a related field
  • At least 3+ years experience in Life Sciences industry, and an equivalent number of years in Information Technology.
  • Prior experience with other cloud-based MDM tools such as Informatica MDM, Stibo is a plus.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data quality tools (e.g. Talend, Databricks, Informatica Data Quality).
  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes, and cloud based scalable data storage analytics platforms such as Azure, AWS, and GCP.
