Climate Project Engineer - Automobile Domain

Desired Skills :

Strong understanding of airflow dynamics, ducting, and cabin thermal comfort.

Skilled in CATIA V5/V6 for 3D modeling and packaging of climate components.

Familiarity with plastics, foams, and textiles used in air distribution systems.

Understanding of airflow noise, insulation, and defrost performance.

Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, BOM, and release systems.

Ability to work with HVAC, Interior, BIW, and NVH teams.

Experience with climate chamber testing, airflow measurement, and acoustic tuning.

Good-to-Have

Working knowledge of JIRA, Self-motivating and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Familiarity with Computational Fluid Dynamics tools for airflow simulation.

Awareness of recyclable materials and low-emission adhesives or foams.

Hands-on involvement in prototype builds and production ramp-up phases.

Understanding of UNECE, FMVSS, and ISO standards for climate systems.

Ability to propose novel ducting layouts, smart vents, or zonal climate solutions.

Experience working with Tier 1 climate system suppliers on tooling and performance validation.

Experience working on multi-region vehicle platforms or global launches.

Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role

• Lead the end-to-end development of body climate components such as air ducts, defroster channels, cabin vents, and sealing interfaces.
• Collaborate with HVAC, Interior Trim, BIW, NVH, and Thermal teams to ensure seamless integration and performance.
• Own engineering specifications, DFMEAs, DVPs, and BOMs for assigned commodities.
• Ensure compliance with global thermal comfort, defrosting, and demisting regulations.
• Manage CAD packaging, airflow path optimization, and release processes using CATIA and Teamcenter.
• Support prototype builds, climate chamber testing, and production launch activities.
• Drive cost, weight, and sustainability improvements through material and design optimization. Resolve technical issues and lead engineering change management (AIMS, ECRs).
• Interface with suppliers to ensure tooling feasibility, airflow performance, and acoustic refinement
