Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Client Partner - Medical Coding with expertise in Anesthesia coding. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of medical records related to anesthesia services. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of coding guidelines, a high level of accuracy, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of activities related to the coding of medical records, assigning accurate diagnosis and CPT codes according to ICD-10 and CPT-4 systems.
  • Review physician notes to determine if all documentation requirements are met.
  • Process charges and perform quality reviews to ensure accuracy.
  • Extrapolate and apply anesthesia codes across various anatomical subsections as applicable.
  • Analyze medical documentation to assess its accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform coding for records with a minimum of 96% accuracy and adhere to all turnaround time (TAT) requirements.
  • Exceed productivity standards for Anesthesia Medical Coding, as defined by internal norms for both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Uphold a high degree of professional and ethical standards at all times.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by working on projects that help clients prevent revenue leakage while maintaining compliance.
  • Stay current with coding skills, knowledge, and accuracy by participating in team meetings and educational conferences.

Qualifications:

  • 1 to 4 years of experience in Medical Coding, with a focus on the Anesthesia specialty.
  • Exposure to CPT-4, ICD-9, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
  • A valid CCS, CPC, CPC-H, CIC, or COC certification from AAPC/AHIMA is a plus and is highly preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of medical and billing systems, regulatory requirements, auditing concepts, and principles.
