Your Role

As an Associate Director Client Onboarding & KYC, you will serve as a Senior subject matter expert and Escalation point within the Client Lifecycle Services function, with end to end accountability for oversight, risk assessment, and quality assurance of complex client onboarding and remediation activities across AMER regions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide senior level oversight of client onboarding, KYC refresh, and remediation activities, ensuring compliance with global regulatory standards and internal policies
  • Identify, assess, and escalate material risks, data gaps, and documentation issues to senior management and relevant control functions
  • Act as a regulatory and tax SME, applying expert judgment across EMIR, Dodd Frank, MiFID, FINRA, and applicable tax regulations
  • Maintain the highest standards for confidentiality, data protection, and audit readiness
  • Collaborate closely with Compliance, Financial Crime Prevention, Risk, Legal, and client facing teams
  • Drive process improvements, regulatory change initiatives, and remediation programs
  • Present complex onboarding, regulatory, and risk topics to senior leadership with clarity and confidence
  • Demonstrate flexibility to support business and regulatory priorities beyond BAU when required

You will be part of the Client Lifecycle Services team based in Hyderabad, India, operating within a fast paced and highly regulated investment banking environment.

  • Work closely with regional onboarding teams across EMEA and AMER
  • Partner daily with IB Sales, Compliance, Financial Crime Prevention, Risk, Legal, and Tax teams
  • Act as a senior escalation point and trusted advisor for onboarding specialists, reviewers, and approvers
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and informal leadership to junior team members to enhance overall quality and consistency
  • Contribute to a culture of risk awareness, accountability, and customer centric service delivery

Your expertise

Your Expertise

You bring deep experience, strong judgment, and leadership presence to the role, including:

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in Client Onboarding, KYC/AML, Due Diligence, or Financial Crime Risk, preferably within Investment Banking
  • Proven track record operating at a senior approval and decision making level, managing complex and high risk client relationships
  • Expert level regulatory knowledge, with demonstrated experience across EMIR, Dodd Frank, MiFID, and FINRA
  • Strong hands on experience with tax related due diligence, regulatory tax requirements, and complex tax classifications
  • Advanced capability in analyzing complex legal entity structures, including corporates, funds, trusts, SPVs, foundations, and partnerships
  • Exceptional analytical, investigative, and problem solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present effectively to senior management
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure while maintaining accuracy and quality
  • Sound risk judgment, decision making capability, and escalation discipline
  • Flexible with shift timing where required and willing to support critical initiatives beyond BAU
