Civil Planning and cost control Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION: Planning & Project Control ExecutiveDepartment: Project Controls / OperationsLocation: Thoraipakkam, ChennaiReports To: Project Head1. ROLE PURPOSE

The Planning & Project Control Executive is responsible for supporting project planning, tracking progress, identifying delays, and ensuring proper coordination between site and office teams.

This role focuses on maintaining planning discipline, accurate reporting, and proactive issue identification across projects.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESA. PROJECT PLANNING SUPPORT

• Assist in preparing baseline schedules for projects
• Support alignment of schedules with BOQ, budget, and site execution plan
• Update schedules based on site progress

B. PROGRESS TRACKING & REPORTING

• Track daily and weekly site progress
• Prepare:
• Daily updates
• Weekly reports
• Look-ahead schedules (1–3 weeks)
• Highlight deviations from planned schedule

C. DELAY IDENTIFICATION

• Identify delays and potential risks early
• Coordinate with Project Leads and site engineers
• Support basic delay analysis and reporting

D. SITE COORDINATION

• Visit sites regularly for:
• Progress validation
• Data collection
• Activity tracking
• Ensure reported progress matches actual work

E. DATA MANAGEMENT & DOCUMENTATION

• Maintain:
• Planning trackers
• Progress reports
• Schedule updates
• Ensure proper documentation and version control

F. COORDINATION WITH TEAMS

Work closely with:

• Project Leads (PLs)
• Site Engineers
• QS / Billing Team
• Procurement Team

3. REQUIRED SKILLSTechnical Skills

• Strong understanding of:
• Construction activities & sequencing
• BOQ basics
• Proficiency in:
• MS Excel (must)
• MS Project / Primavera (preferred)

Behavioral Skills

• Strong analytical and logical thinking
• Good communication and coordination ability
• Detail-oriented and disciplined

4. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• Qualification: BE / B.Tech (Civil Engineering)
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in construction / planning / site coordination
• Must have strong technical understanding of site execution

5. OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Willing to relocate/work in Thoraipakkam, Chennai
• Must own a two-wheeler (bike) for site visits
• Ready for frequent site travel and coordination

6. COMPENSATION

• Salary: ₹50,000 per month (based on experience)
• Additional: Travel Allowance provided
