Ensures full compliance to Indian Regulatory framework requirements for dam civil maintenance and HSS (i.e. in line to CWC, CEA, DSA, national building code, international / Indian standard etc. requirements).
Responsible for overall dam safety program at plant site, including safeguarding compliance with all applicable relevant requirements and communication in accordance with Dam safety act.
Responsible for documentation preparation pertaining to safe and efficient operation and dam / intake and other civil infrastructure in line with the Indian Statutory and regulatory requirements.
Responsible for operation and maintenance of Early Warning System (EWS) in line with the applicable CEA / CWC guidelines.
Ensures implementation of HSS requirements, risk assessment, monitoring, inspections, maintenance, community safety (in line with the DSA/CWC requirements) and reporting to State/Central dam safety authority.
Maintenance for complete plant civil infrastructure, including daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and checklists.
Preparation and implementation of silt management plan at plant level.
Prepare and manage plant civil infrastructure budget, work to optimize the costs and maximize production. This includes developing and tracking the monthly, quarterly, and annual civil infrastructure budget.
Delegates and assigns work tasks to civil team to maintain optimum plant operations.
Support O&M head in plant improvement projects, modernization initiatives, digital transformation, and other applicable upgrades.
Maintains plant critical spares inventory to meet the exigencies, in co-ordination with plant maintenance heads.
Lead, train and develop civil team at Plant and prepare a detailed training calendar for plant civil team accordingly.
Develop and execute risk management strategies to mitigate Operational risks and ensure compliance with internal audits.
Prepares and maintains plant civil maintenance records and presents the same to the management on need basis.
IMS implementation, documentation preparation and updating, pertaining to your area.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
Other Professional certifications pertaining to civil engineering is preferred.
Proven expertise in operations and maintenance within hydro power generation sector, with a minimum of 15 years of experience.
Strong knowledge of Statutory and regulatory requirements pertaining to Hydro and PSS Plants (CWC, CEA, Dam safety act, national building code, international / Indian standard etc.).
Well conversation with GLOF, LLOF, geological hazards, dam break study, transient analysis, physical modeling studies, EWS requirements etc.
Well conversant with the reporting requirements to the state / central dam safety authority in line with the CEA, CWC and DSA requirements etc.
Operations experience of large-scale pump storage power plants is preferred.
Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for Plant maintenance works.
Knowledge of analytics tools for performance optimization and risk assessment.
