Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Estimation Engineer with experience in utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. The role involves preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, supporting bid proposals, and working closely with Business Development, Engineering, and Project Management teams. Experience in the international market will be considered an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects.
- Collaborate with Business Development, Engineering, and Project Management teams to ensure proposals are comprehensive, competitive, and aligned with client requirements.
- Ensure timely receipt of technical inputs and BOQs from the design and engineering teams.
- Study and analyze RFPs, technical specifications, drawings, site survey reports, and overall project scope.
- Review and understand technical drawings, layouts, and system configurations related to Solar PV, BESS, and substations.
- Send enquiries to suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants, and manage the receipt, evaluation, comparison, and analysis of quotations.
- Develop accurate and competitive cost models for bids and project proposals.
- Maintain and track historical cost data to enhance the accuracy of future estimates.
- Conduct cost benchmarking and value engineering where applicable.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market pricing, and emerging technologies in Solar PV and BESS.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of utility-scale Solar PV and BESS systems.
- Basic understanding of Substation SLDs and drawings.
- Familiarity with BOQs, cost breakdown structures, and estimation tools.
- Ability to interpret technical documents, specifications, and drawings.
- Knowledge of international codes, standards, and pricing trends (preferred).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical / Renewable Energy or related field).
- Relevant experience in cost estimation, proposal engineering, or tendering for renewable energy projects.
- Experience in international solar/BESS projects is an added advantage.
