About the Role
The Civil / Structural Engineer will own the complete civil design package solar power plant projects from MMS foundation design and structural drawings to internal road layout, drainage, fencing, and BOQ preparation. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role that requires strong design skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate closely with the electrical team, site execution team, and external contractors.
This role involves managing the civil design aspects of solar power plant projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and effective coordination with various teams.
Responsibilities
Structural Design & Drawings
- Prepare MMS (Module Mounting Structure) structural design and foundation design based on geotechnical investigation reports
- Produce control room, inverter room, and substation architectural and structural drawings
- Review and approve MMS shop drawings submitted by fabricators before manufacturing
- Ensure all structural designs comply with IS 800, IS 456, IS 875, and IS 2911
Civil Layout & Infrastructure
- Design internal site roads, drainage channels, and earthwork / grading plans
- Prepare fencing layout, boundary wall design, and cable trench layout drawings
- Coordinate with survey contractors and review topographic survey reports
- Conduct and oversee soil investigation at project sites and interpret geotechnical reports
BOQ, Coordination & Compliance
- Prepare accurate Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for all civil works with less than 5% variance
- Coordinate with the electrical design team to integrate civil and electrical layouts seamlessly
- Deliver complete civil design packages within 20 days of survey completion
- Conduct periodic site visits to verify layout marking, foundation work, and structural compliance
Qualifications
- B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognised university
- 4 to 6 years of experience in civil / structural engineering for solar or infrastructure projects
- Must have independently designed foundations and structures for a minimum cumulative capacity of 30 MW of solar
- Hands-on experience with geotechnical report interpretation and soil bearing capacity analysis
- Strong working knowledge of IS codes: IS 800, IS 456, IS 875, IS 2911, and NBC 2016
Required Skills
