Job Description

We are partnering with a leading family-held education group with multiple brands across Schools , Colleges & University.

The position is CTO who will drive digital transformation, IT operations, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, EdTech innovation, and technology-enabled academic excellence.

CTC range : 75 - 85 Lakhs

Location : Bangalore

Seeking a visionary and strategic Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the institution's technology ecosystem and drive digital transformation across academic, research, and administrative functions. The CTO will be responsible for developing and implementing the university's technology strategy, ensuring robust IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise systems, digital learning platforms, and emerging technology initiatives that support the university's mission and long-term growth

The CTO will serve as the principal technology leader and collaborate with academic and administrative stakeholders to create a future-ready, technology-enabled university

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Digital Transformation

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the university's vision, mission, and strategic objectives
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives across academic, research, and administrative functions
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their applicability to enhance institutional effectiveness and competitiveness
  • Establish technology governance frameworks and standards across the university.

IT Infrastructure & Enterprise Systems

  • Oversee the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of the university's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud platforms, data centers, and databases
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of enterprise applications and technology services
  • Lead implementation and optimization of ERP, HRMS, Finance Systems, Student Information Systems (SIS), and other enterprise platforms
  • Drive automation and process improvement initiatives across departments

Academic Technology & Digital Learning

  • Collaborate with academic leadership to integrate technology into teaching, learning, and assessment processes
  • Support the development and management of online, hybrid, and digital learning environments
  • Enhance utilization of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and educational technologies
  • Enable innovative teaching methodologies through technology adoption

.Cybersecurity, Risk & Compliance

  • Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies, policies, and best practices to safeguard institutional data and digital assets
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards related to information technology and data privacy
  • Monitor cybersecurity risks and establish preventive and corrective measures
  • Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning initiatives

Research & Innovation Enablement

  • Support faculty and researchers with technology infrastructure and digital tools for research excellence
  • Promote innovation through AI, analytics, cloud computing, research computing, and emerging technologies
  • Facilitate technology-driven collaborations with industry, government agencies, and academic institutions

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Partner with university leadership, faculty, and staff to understand technology requirements and deliver effective solutions
  • Build strong relationships with technology vendors, service providers, and strategic partners
  • Negotiate technology contracts and ensure value optimization from technology investments
  • Foster effective communication between technology teams and business stakeholders

Financial & Team Leadership

  • Develop and manage the annual technology budget and ensure optimal utilization of resources
  • Prioritize technology investments based on institutional needs and strategic goals
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing IT teams
  • Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous learning, and service excellence

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field

Master's degree in Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline preferred..

Experience

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Information Technology, with at least 7–10 years in senior technology leadership roles
  • Proven experience in enterprise technology management, digital transformation, cybersecurity, and large-scale technology programs.
  • Experience in higher education, EdTech, research institutions, or large complex organizations is preferred.

Demonstrated success in leading enterprise-wide technology initiatives and managing large technology teams.
