Our client is a well-funded startup : AI-powered customer experience, feedback and insights platform supporting enterprises to convert customer engagement, analytics and feedback into actionable business intelligence.

They are seeking a visionary yet hands-on Chief Technology Officer to lead technology strategy, platform architecture, engineering execution and AI innovation. This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who can build scalable enterprise SaaS products while developing high-performing engineering teams in a growth-stage environment.

The Position

The CTO will own the company's technology vision, roadmap and delivery. Working closely with the CEO, Product, Data Science, Design, Sales and Customer Success teams, the successful candidate will ensure technology investment directly supports commercial objectives, product innovation and enterprise client needs.

The role requires strong experience in SaaS architecture, cloud infrastructure, engineering leadership, AI/ML-enabled products and secure enterprise platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the long-term technology strategy, architecture roadmap and engineering priorities.
• Lead the design, development, scalability, reliability and security of the enterprise SaaS platform.
• Drive innovation across AI, machine learning, automation, analytics, Generative AI, NLP and predictive capabilities.
• Make key architectural decisions covering distributed systems, APIs, databases, microservices and cloud-native platforms.
• Establish robust engineering standards, code quality practices, development processes, testing and delivery governance.
• Lead cloud infrastructure, DevOps, CI/CD, platform modernisation, performance optimisation and disaster recovery planning.
• Partner with Product and Data Science teams to develop and deploy AI-powered product capabilities.
• Build, mentor and retain high-performing engineering teams across backend, frontend, DevOps, QA and AI functions.
• Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Ensure appropriate cybersecurity, data privacy, risk management and enterprise compliance standards.
• Manage technology vendors, infrastructure costs, budgets and external technology partnerships.
• Support enterprise integrations and ensure the platform can scale effectively with client and business growth.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• 12+ years of progressive software engineering and technology leadership experience.
• Prior experience as a CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Engineering or similar senior technology leader.
• Strong track record building and scaling B2B SaaS platforms.
• Deep experience with AWS, Azure and/or GCP.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, APIs, databases, DevOps and cloud-native engineering.
• Experience developing AI/ML-enabled, analytics or data-driven products.
• Familiarity with Generative AI, LLMs, conversational AI, intelligent automation and NLP would be advantageous.
• Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams in a fast-paced startup or growth-stage environment.
• Strong communication skills, commercial awareness and ability to engage senior internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Background

Experience within customer experience, survey, analytics, enterprise software or digital engagement platforms would be beneficial. Exposure to enterprise integrations, data security frameworks, microservices and Agile product-led development is also preferred.
