Ananya Finance for Inclusive Growth Pvt. Ltd. (Ananya) is a socially motivated, Non-Banking Finance Company (NBFC) that facilitates formal credit access to the underserved population of India. It is committed to reaching the sections of the population that remain excluded from the credit, focusing on reaching out to underserved women. At present, Ananya offers its customers Micro Enterprise Loans, and through its subsidiary Prayas Financial Services Pvt. Ltd., it caters to the microfinance borrower segment.

About the Role

The Chief Operating Officer will be the backbone of Ananya Finance's operational engine, ensuring that the company's strategies are translated into efficient, scalable, and compliant operations. The COO will lead cross-functional teams across credit operations, technology, collections, compliance, and shared services, driving excellence at every stage of the customer and partner lifecycle. This is a critical role that sits at the intersection of strategy and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and continuously improve end-to-end operational processes across the loan lifecycle; from origination and underwriting to disbursement, collections, and closure.
  • Lead and oversee technology and digital transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and improve customer experience.
  • Build and manage a scalable operations infrastructure that can support rapid growth across products and geographies.
  • Champion a culture of data-driven decision-making, leveraging analytics and dashboards to monitor operational health and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance across all business operations in coordination with legal and compliance teams.
  • Collaborate with the MD & CEO and product teams to operationalize new products and market expansions.
  • Drive organizational effectiveness through the development of people, processes, and systems.
  • Manage vendor and partner relationships critical to operational delivery.
  • Provide regular operational reporting to the MD & CEO, highlighting risks, performance, and improvement areas.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Post-graduate degree in Business, Engineering, IT Finance, or a related field from a reputed institution.
  • 18+ years of experience, ideally between age range of 43-47 years, in a senior operations leadership role, ideally within lending, fintech, or BFSI.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and scale operations from early to growth stage.
  • Strong understanding of credit operations, collections, risk management, and regulatory compliance in the Indian financial services context.
  • Hands-on experience with technology platforms, digital workflows, and process automation.
  • Proven track record of leading large, cross-functional teams and driving organizational change.
