About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Corporate Legal Advisor to join our Legal team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the BFSI sector, particularly in wealth management, and will be responsible for ensuring that the company's legal documentation, contracts, and business activities are compliant with applicable laws and internal policies. The role will also involve reviewing and negotiating technology and IT-related contracts that support digital transformation and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of legal and commercial documents, including but not limited to:
Investment and advisory agreements
Client engagement letters
Distribution and referral agreements
Confidentiality agreements (NDAs)
Loan and security documents
Vendor, service-level and consultancy contracts
Technology, software licensing, SaaS, IT services, outsourcing, and data processing agreements
- Provide strategic legal support for technology partnerships and IT infrastructure initiatives, including digital platforms used for client onboarding, portfolio management, wealth advisory services and other miscellaneous services.
- Advise on data privacy, cybersecurity obligations, and compliance with IT laws, including the Information Technology Act, and applicable data protection frameworks.
- Support product and business teams on new initiatives, technology integrations, and innovation with legal guidance and risk assessment.
- Assist in internal policy creation, review, and legal compliance audits.
- Monitor regulatory and legal developments impacting BFSI, IT, and data governance landscapes.
- Liaise with external counsel for specialized legal matters.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in law (LL.B.); LL.M. or specialization in technology law is a plus.
- 58 years of relevant post-qualification experience, preferably in BFSI, NBFC, fintech, asset management, or investment advisory sectors.
- Proven experience in commercial contract negotiation, financial regulations, and technology agreements.
- Familiarity with SEBI, RBI, Companies Act, and IT/data protection regulations.
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, business acumen, and ability to work across functions.
- Comfortable handling multiple stakeholders and working under tight timelines.
