Financial Controller- Manager
Position Summary
This senior role requires deep hands-on expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, inventory & working capital management, and SAP systems, with strong business partnering skills to provide actionable insights to plant leadership and senior management.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Lead and own budgeting, rolling forecasts, strategic financial planning, and detailed variance analysis to drive business performance and support leadership decisions.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial closing, management reporting, and full compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.
- Spearhead cost control programs, inventory optimization, working capital efficiency, reduction in stock carrying costs, improvement in order book margins, and minimization of borrowing costs.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve robust financial processes, internal controls, risk management frameworks, and governance practices.
- Act as a key strategic partner to plant operations, providing financial insights that balance short-term cost discipline with long-term growth and profitability goals.
- Closely collaborate with plant operations, procurement, project execution, commercial, and other cross-functional teams in a manufacturing and project-driven environment.
- Oversee cash flow planning, funding requirements, and treasury-related activities at the plant level.
- Lead high-impact financial projects focused on cost reduction, margin enhancement, process digitization, and profitability improvement.
Critical Success Factors - Essential
- 1215+ years of post-qualification experience in finance controlling / business finance, preferably in power transmission, infrastructure, EPC, heavy manufacturing, or renewable energy sectors.
- Current or recent experience in a senior finance role (Chief Manager / Sr. Manager / Controller level) in a plant/manufacturing setup is highly preferred.
- Strong hands-on expertise in SAP FICO (core module) with practical working knowledge of integration with MM, SD, and PS modules.
- Proven track record of delivering measurable results in cost optimization, inventory reduction, cash flow improvement, and margin enhancement in project/manufacturing businesses.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable business recommendations. Proficiency in advanced Excel, financial modelling.
