Chief Financial Officer

About the opportunity

We are currently partnering with a globally operating mid-sized Indian company to hire a Chief Financial Officer based in their HO at Chennai.

The role will work closely with the Founder/CEO and leadership team, driving financial strategy, strengthening governance frameworks and supporting the company's global expansion and IPO readiness journey.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Finance & Leadership

• Act as a strategic partner to the Founder/CEO, supporting key business decisions, growth initiatives and long-term strategy

• Play a close business-facing role working with leadership on operational performance, expansion plans and capital allocation

• Provide financial insights to support strategic initiatives, investments and new business opportunities

• Work with the leadership team towards making the company and its financial systems IPO ready

Financial Planning & Control

• Lead end-to-end financial planning including budgeting, cash flow forecasting and liquidity management

• Lead fundraising initiatives including working capital facilities and banking relationships

• Support capex decisions through financial analysis and return tracking

Reporting & Compliance

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for investors and leadership

• Oversee filings related to GST, TDS, PF/PT and other regulatory obligations

• Manage internal and external audits

• Ensure compliance with FEMA, transfer pricing and Ind AS requirements

Business Finance & Governance

• Build strong internal financial controls and SOP frameworks

• Monitor project-level profitability and business performance

• Support preparation of cost-plus pricing tenders

Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACS / LLB would be an added advantage)

• 12+ years of experience across finance, treasury and business planning

• Experience within mid-sized manufacturing or hardware servicing companies with global operations

• Exposure to IPO preparation, board reporting and ERP systems
