This position manages all engineering and maintenance operations, focusing on maintaining the building, grounds, and physical plant with a keen eye on safety, security, and asset protection. You'll be accountable for managing the budget, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and leading the emergency response team for all facility issues are also key aspects of this role.
Candidate Profile
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED with 4 years of experience in engineering and maintenance or a related professional area, along with technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing.
- OR a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or a related major, with 2 years of experience in engineering and maintenance or a related professional area, and technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing.
Core Work Activities
Managing Property Operations and Engineering Budgets:
- Supervises Engineering when the Director of Engineering is absent.
- Assists in managing the physical plant, including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical, and life safety systems.
- Maintains and operates equipment for optimal effectiveness, efficiency, and safety.
- Establishes and manages an effective rooms maintenance program.
- Ensures compliance with all Engineering departmental policies, standards, and procedures.
- Manages departmental controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
- Selects, orders, or purchases new equipment, supplies, and furnishings.
- Inspects and evaluates the physical condition of facilities to determine necessary work.
- Recommends or arranges for additional services like painting, repairs, renovations, and replacement of furnishings and equipment.
- Supervises the day-to-day operations of Engineering.
Maintaining Property Standards:
- Maintains accurate logs and records as required.
- Assists in effectively planning, scheduling, and evaluating preventative maintenance programs.
Providing Exceptional Customer Service:
- Handles guest problems and complaints effectively.
- Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.
