The Chief Architect will serve as the main driver of DSU's AI Factory and Generative AI, leading the development of sovereign generative AI systems, large-scale foundation models, and rapid AI-to-product pipelines. DSU Centre for NVIDIA AI Factory & Generative AI is the Central Brain of DSU AI Factory. This centre drives large-scale generative AI initiatives, including sovereign foundation models such as DSU-GPT, and hosts the AI Maker Space where ideas move rapidly from code to real-world products.
This role combines deep research leadership with hands-on product and startup incubation. This is a university-level strategic leadership role responsible for architecting platforms, building elite teams, and converting raw compute power into a deployable intelligence system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, training, fine-tuning, and deployment of large-scale generative AI and foundation models (e.g., DSU-GPT).
- Drive 30% utilization of the B200 supercomputing infrastructure for AI research and product prototyping.
- Establish a high-impact research lab integrating AI software with physical product creation (Maker ecosystem).
- Mentor PhD scholars, faculty, and student startup teams.
- Build industry and startup partnerships for commercialization and IP generation.
- Publish high-impact research while prioritizing real-world applications and open-source innovation.
- Represent DSU globally in AI research, policy, and innovation forums.
Desired Profile:
- Senior Research Scientist or Technical Leader from Google DeepMind, OpenAI, NVIDIA Research, or equivalent.
- Alternatively, a distinguished academic from IITs, IISc, IIITs, MIT Media Lab, Stanford HAI, or similar.
- Strong track record in generative AI, foundation models, and product-driven research.
- Experience in open-source leadership or AI startup creation is highly preferred.
