Chemist - Proximate

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain GC-FID and other laboratory instruments for analysis
• Perform proximate analysis and test UV parameters
• Analyze fatty acid profiles in various food matrices
• Manage sample preparation, handling, and storage before and after analysis
• Maintain and update Certified Reference Materials (CRM)
• Conduct method verification and validation as per regulatory and internal standards
• Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Accurately interpret, analyze, and report test results
• Ensure compliance with laboratory quality and safety protocols
• Maintain detailed records of all test activities, calibrations, and observations

Qualifications:

• B.Sc / M.Sc in Chemistry or related field
• 3–4 years of hands-on experience in a food testing laboratory
• Proficiency in proximate analysis, water analysis, allergen analysis, and use of general instruments
• Familiarity with method validation and use of CRMs in testing procedures
