The RoleAs a Chartered Accountant at Shft-In, you won't just be crunching numbers—you will be the financial architect of our growth. You will take full ownership of the financial health of the organization, ensuring that our rapid expansion is backed by rigorous compliance, accurate reporting, and strategic fiscal planning. You will report directly to the leadership team and work cross-functionally with Operations, Tech, and Business Development.
Key Responsibilities1. Financial Controllership & Reporting
- Prepare and present accurate Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Financial Statements in accordance with Ind AS/Accounting Standards.
- Manage the General Ledger, including accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules.
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes with strict adherence to timelines.
2. Taxation & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure 100% compliance with GST, TDS, and Income Tax regulations, including timely filings and payments.
- Represent the company in front of tax authorities and manage assessments/appeals.
- Keep the management updated on changes in fiscal laws that impact the real estate/co-living sector.
3. Budgeting & Strategic Analysis
- Develop and monitor annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
- Conduct Variance Analysis (Actual vs. Budget) and provide actionable insights to departmental heads to optimize costs.
- Analyze unit-level economics (per property) to identify profitability trends and leakages.
4. Audit & Internal Controls
- Act as the primary point of contact for Statutory and Internal Auditors.
- Design and implement robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets and prevent leakage in a high-transaction environment.
5. Real Estate Operations Support
- Oversee security deposit management, rent reconciliations, and vendor payment cycles.
- Evaluate the financial feasibility of new property acquisitions or lease-out models.
Qualifications & Skills- Education: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory.
- Experience: 2–5 years of post-qualification experience (Experience in Startups, Real Estate, or Hospitality is a major plus).
