Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced professional to manage the day-to-day operations of our channel. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in handling reporters, editors, producers, and assignment teams.
The candidate must have a strong understanding of newsroom workflows and content production processes, ensuring smooth coordination between editorial, production, and assignment teams. They should be capable of managing deadlines, supervising daily output, resolving operational challenges, and maintaining overall efficiency in channel operations.
Strong leadership, coordination, and decision-making skills are essential for this role.
Editorial Leadership
- Define daily and long-term editorial strategy for the channel
- Decide news priorities, headlines, debates, and special coverage
- Approve scripts, rundowns, tickers, promos, and breaking news content
- Ensure accuracy, balance, and ethical journalism standards
Newsroom Operations
- Lead 24×7 newsroom operations including breaking news & live coverage
- Coordinate with Assignment Desk, Output Desk, Producers & Bureau Chiefs
- Ensure timely bulletins and smooth show execution
- Handle crisis editorial decisions during sensitive news situations
Programming & Content Strategy
- Oversee prime-time debates, special shows, and election coverage
- Develop new formats and innovative Hindi news programming
- Analyze TRP data and viewer feedback to improve content performance
Team Management
- Lead anchors, producers, reporters, copy editors, and video editors
- Mentor editorial teams and maintain performance discipline
- Conduct editorial reviews and content quality audits
Compliance & Ethics
- Ensure adherence to NBDSA, I&B Ministry guidelines, and channel policies
- Prevent legal, regulatory, and reputational risks
- Coordinate with legal team on sensitive stories
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in Journalism / Mass Communication / Media Studies
- 2-5 years of experience in Hindi news television
- Prior experience as Output Editor / Managing Editor / Senior Editor preferred
- Strong command over Hindi language (spoken & written)
- Excellent news judgment and decision-making skills
- Proven leadership in high-pressure live broadcast environments

- Experience handling elections, political debates & ground reporting
- Strong understanding of Hindi news audience & TRP dynamics
