Job Description

Category Manager - Programs & New Initiatives

Location: Bangalore | Work from Office

Employment Type: Full-Time

Roles & Responsibilities:

1- Category Growth & Ownership: Build, own, and scale new categories from 0 to 1 and then to 5X-10X a highly challenging and rewarding journey.

2- Vendor & Partner Management:

  • Act as the single point of contact for vendor partners.
  • Lead deal negotiations, pricing discussions, and contract finalizations.
  • Co-create new products, bundles, and category-specific solutions with partners.

3- Business & Revenue Management:


  • Own end-to-end P&L for the category.
  • Track and deliver on revenue, margins, and GMV growth targets.
  • Identify and drive business levers to maximize profitability and ROI.

4- Strategic Partnerships: Build and nurture strong relationships with external stakeholders to create long-term value and competitive advantage.

5- Market Intelligence & Innovation: Conduct deep market and category research, benchmark competitors, and launch innovative initiatives to stay ahead.

6- Business Planning: Prepare growth forecasts, pricing models, and financial projections for leadership review.

7- Internal stakeholder management: Working with functional teams on demand planning and execution (marketing), product/booking journey improvement (product & tech/low code), process & order fulfilment improvement (operations) and customer pain points identification and resolution (customer support)

Job Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years in Category Management, Partnerships, or Business Development, preferably in a 0-to-1 or scale-up environment.
  • Vendor Management Expertise: Proven experience in vendor negotiations, pricing, and relationship management.
  • P&L Ownership: Strong understanding of revenue, margins, and cost levers with demonstrated experience in driving category profitability.
  • Strategic & Commercial Acumen: Ability to create and execute win-win partnerships, launch new products, and build scalable business constructs.
  • Analytical & Data-Driven: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Execution Excellence: Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments with strong execution focus.
  • End to End Ownership of category: High ownership mindset with ability to influence and execute.
