Responsibilities:
Category Planning:
- Implement category strategies and strive to achieve sales and margin targets, aligned with company goals and objectives.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats in the furniture and facilities category.
Product Selection and Assortment Management:
- Source and select high-quality furniture and facilities products to meet customer needs and preferences, ensuring a diverse and attractive product assortment.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements with vendors to optimise product margins and maintain competitive pricing in the market.
Vendor Management and Relationships:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, including managing performance, and resolving issues.
- Evaluate vendor performance against key metrics such as quality, delivery, and service levels, and take appropriate actions to address any deficiencies.
Inventory Management and Planning:
- Work closely with inventory and logistics teams to forecast demand, manage inventory levels, and optimise stock replenishment for the furniture and facilities category.
- Monitor inventory turnover, stock levels, and product availability to minimise out-of-stock situations and maximise sales opportunities.
Promotions and Marketing:
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop and execute promotional campaigns, marketing materials, and sales initiatives to drive category growth and customer engagement.
- Analyse sales data and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product promotions, cross-selling, and upselling.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience (4-6 years) in category management, product management, or related role, preferably in the furniture or facilities industry.
- Strong product knowledge and understanding of furniture and facilities products, materials, and trends.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, analyse trends, and make data-driven decisions to drive category performance.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritise workload effectively.
- Proficiency in Ms office and category management software/tools.
