Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Bhopal for a Cartoonist at People's University. The Cartoonist will be responsible for conceptualizing and creating visual artwork such as cartoons, caricatures, comic strips, and character designs tailored to educational, promotional, and marketing initiatives. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with faculty and departments to create illustrative content, ensuring creative alignment with organizational values and branding, and delivering projects within specified timelines.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a creative and imaginative Cartoonist who can develop original cartoon illustrations, characters, and visual concepts for print, digital media, social media, branding, and promotional purposes. The candidate should have strong drawing skills, storytelling ability, and the creativity to convert ideas into engaging cartoon visuals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create original cartoons, illustrations, caricatures, and character designs based on project requirements.
• Develop visual concepts for social media, advertisements, books, magazines, educational content, and branding materials.
• Collaborate with the content, marketing, and design teams to understand concepts and create suitable artwork.
• Design and refine comic strips, mascots, storyboards, and animated character sketches.
• Ensure all artwork aligns with the brand tone, theme, and project objectives.
• Revise drawings and illustrations based on feedback.
• Stay updated with current illustration trends, digital drawing tools, and creative styles.

Required Skills:

• Strong freehand drawing and sketching skills.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Procreate, CorelDRAW, or similar illustration tools.
• Good understanding of character design, expressions, storytelling, and composition.
• Ability to create both traditional and digital illustrations.
• Creative thinking and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple creative projects.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Fine Arts, Animation, Illustration, Graphic Design, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience as a cartoonist, illustrator, or similar creative role.
• A strong portfolio of cartoons, illustrations, or character designs is mandatory.

Preferred Skills :-

• Knowledge of storyboarding and basic animation.
• Experience in creating editorial cartoons, comic content, or children's illustrations.
• Ability to adapt to different cartoon styles as per project needs.
